Deteksi Dini Sebagai Upaya Preventif Hipertensi Dan Diabetes Mellitus Melalui Edukasi Sehat Lansia

Abstrak

Hipertensi dan diabetes mellitus menjadi penyebab utama masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang sering terjadi dan semakin meningkat. Diagnosis secara dini terhadap kondisi kesehatan menjadi sangat penting untuk mengontrol proses penyakit dengan lebih baik. Deteksi dini memungkinkan intervensi dini untuk memperlambat atau mencegah perkembangan penyakit dan kematian. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengetahuan lanjut usia melalui edukasi kesehatan berkaitan dengan deteksi dini masalah hipertensi dan risiko terjadinya diabetes mellitus. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2023 di Dukuh Nglengis Kalurahan Sitimulyo. Kapanewon Piyungan Kabupaten Bantul pada 68 lanjut usia. Riwayat hipertensi dalam keluarga, data usia, riwayat diabetes mellitus dan pengetahuan lanjut usia  menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi oleh peserta. Hasil pre test terdapat 32 responden (47,06%)  pengetahuan lanjut usia kurang. Penting dilakukan dan diprioritaskan deteksi dini sebagai faktor dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, meningkatkan akses terhadap layanan kesehata, dan meningkatkan fasilitas kesehatan untuk individu dan masyarakat. Program deteksi dini penting dilakukan sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang masalah kesehatan masyarakat termasuk hipertensi dan diabetes mellitus.
